spring-prairie
Spring Prairie

It's very hard to capture this green on screen. Think pistachio or avocado, or the yellowy-green colour of prairie grasses in late spring, when the bright early greens have mellowed a bit.

The yellow base of this colour is made from Goldenrod (solidago canadensis). The dye molecule of goldenrod is kaempferol, a flavonol. Flavonols are slightly less colourfast than the flavones found in weld or the tannin-rich pomegranate, but still adequate for use in the professional dyehouse. I recommend not using this colour for something like a pillow or curtain that will be regularly exposed to bright sunlight. And as ever, dry all your goods in the shade.
